Our Chef

Chef Ryan Wetham

Chef Ryan Whetham brings big-city flavor and small-town soul to the heart of Greensburg. Originally from Colorado, Ryan found his footing in the culinary world early—working at his family’s meat shop at just 14, then grinding as a dishwasher next door by night. By 15, he was in a country club kitchen under a certified ACF chef and later entered the American Culinary Federation apprenticeship program.

After cutting his teeth in Denver’s food scene—working as a sous chef in gastropubs and country clubs—he landed his first executive chef role, where fate also introduced him to his future wife, Kincy Whetham, granddaughter of longtime local Earl Mozingo. The couple moved to Greensburg to be close to family as they prepared to welcome their first child.

Though opportunities in the local culinary scene were limited at the time, Ryan kept pushing forward—earning leadership roles with top-tier caterers in Indy and most recently working as Regional Chef for Upland Brewing Company.

Now, eight years and (almost) three kids later, Ryan is back in Greensburg full-time—bringing bold ideas, scratch-made flavor, and a vision for the future through his company, Steamboat Catering Co.

His goal? Not just to serve good food—but to help build a thriving culinary culture in Greensburg that inspires the next generation of young chefs.
